Cookies & storage
For: Website visitors and app users · Last updated 5 November 2026 · Version 2026-11-05.2
Draft. These documents haven’t been reviewed by a lawyer yet, and details in [square brackets] are still to be filled in.
The short version
We don’t use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We only store what the websites and app need to work (essential storage), which the law allows without asking.
Anything optional, such as analytics, needs your permission first. The cookie banner asks the first time you visit: “Essential only” and “Allow analytics” are equally easy, and nothing optional loads until you choose. Closing or ignoring the banner means no. We don’t use any analytics tools yet; if we add one, it will only run for people who chose “Allow analytics”, and we’ll update this page.
Websites
- Sign-in session (coaching website, browser local storage, keys starting
sb-): keeps you signed in, and during “Continue with Google” holds a one-time check that the reply came back to the same browser. Strictly necessary. Lasts until you sign out. - Sign-up birthday (
mm.signup-birth, session storage, coaching website): if you give your birthday on the coach sign-up page and then choose “Continue with Google”, it’s kept in that tab until your new account saves it. Strictly necessary. Deleted once saved, or when you close the tab. - Theme (
macrocellar.theme, local storage): remembers light or dark mode. Set only when you choose a theme; lasts until you clear it. - Your cookie choice (
macrocellar.consent, local storage): remembers whether you allowed analytics, when, and which version of this policy you saw. Strictly necessary, so we don’t ask again on every page. We ask again after 12 months or if this policy changes what the options do. - Fonts: served from our own website, so loading a page doesn’t contact Google or any other font service.
The early-access and contact forms and the public pages set no cookies. The What’s new page loads the notes from our database provider (Supabase) when you open it, without cookies or storing anything. The admin website (staff only) keeps its sign-in only until the tab is closed.
Optional: analytics
Off unless you allow it. If you choose “Allow analytics”, we may count which pages are visited, anonymously, to improve them. We don’t run any analytics yet, so allowing it currently changes nothing.
Before we add an analytics tool, we’ll name it here, with what it stores and how long, and it will only load for people who allowed analytics.
The app
- Sign-in session, kept in your phone’s secure storage (Keychain / Keystore).
- Onboarding answers, kept on your phone until your account is created, then deleted.
- Settings and a cache of your data so the app works offline.
- Push notification token, so we can deliver notifications you’ve turned on.
The app doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and contains no advertising SDKs.
Third parties
Coach checkout opens Stripe’s secure payment page, which sets its own strictly necessary cookies for fraud prevention (Stripe’s cookie policy).
Control
Change your choice at any time with Cookie settings: at the bottom of every website page, in the coaching website’s account menu, and with the button below. Withdrawing is as easy as allowing, and anything optional stops straight away.
You can also clear local storage in your browser settings (you’ll be signed out). Signing out of the app removes its session.
